aKDPhi Provides New Therapy Benefits for Membership Through Talkspace
LOS ANGELES, CA, May 29, 2022 -- At Convention of 2022 , the aKDPhi Board of Directors announced that no-cost access to Talkspace virtual therapy and psychiatry services will be available to all undergraduate members and alumnae with elite membership.
Brenda Dang, 2021-2022 Board of Director Chairman shared, “The membership experience and our vision for aKDPhi is to support a network of respected, confident women who elevate each other and their communities, regardless of one’s stage in life. Our network can only be strong if we support each other and most importantly, take care of ourselves. To me, Talkspace supports our fundamental need to manage our own mental health and well-being. Talkspace isn’t a nice-to-have; it is a must have.”
Talkspace is a digital mental health service that connects members to thousands of licensed providers from a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform across all 50 states . Therapy services do extend to many other countries, but all Talkspace therapists work within the United States. With Talkspace therapy, users can send their dedicated therapist text, voice, or video messages—anytime, anywhere—and live sessions are also available. Additionally, Talkspace has a network of licensed prescribers specializing in mental health care and prescription management (note: Talkspace does not prescribe any stimulants or controlled substances). Psychiatry appointments are only available via live video.
alpha Kappa Delta Phi undergraduate members & elite alumnae members ages 18+ now have access to online therapy at no cost to the individual. This includes unlimited messaging, as well as the option to use one 30-minute live session (via chat, audio, or video) with a Talkspace therapist each month.
